Obituary for Timothy Dale Burroughs

Timothy Dale Burroughs, 71, of Caledonia, died peacefully Sunday morning, October 9, 2022, after a brief tussle with colon cancer.

He was born January 26, 1951, to Jesse and Mable Burroughs. Tim met and later married Janice Hauser on October 31, 1970. They had two children, Chad and Nicki. They lived in Caledonia their entire lives, farming until 1995, when Tim went to work for Bob Giblin, driving truck. Tim later retired after driving for Ace Hardware for 14 years. As of late, he was delivering parts for CarQuest/Advanced Auto.

He is survived by the love of his life, Janice; son Chad (Jen Melby); daughter, Nicki; grandsons, Mason and Max; four loving sisters, Alice Schleich, Donna (Al) Schlinsog, Joan (Lee) Breeser, and Jeanie (Larry) Kruse; brother, Milton (Elaine) Burroughs; sisters-in-law, Erma Burroughs and Sandy (Paul) Tollefsrud; brothers-in-law, Sylvan (Elaine) Hauser and John Hauser; long time family friends, Tony Rud and Darlene Ruza; and his little dog, “Stuart” that he loved like crazy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lucielle (Bob) Colsch and Lois (Lyle) Nelson; brothers, Bob Burroughs and Donnie (Bonnie) Burroughs; brother-in-law, Jack Schleich; nephews, Steve Nelson, David Burroughs, Peter Hauser, and Cory Hauser; nieces, Kathie Nelson and Susie Hauser; and his grand-puppy, Brodie.

Dad was always busy doing something. There were always chores to do or projects to get done. The only time he enjoyed sitting down was if there was an episode of “Gunsmoke” on. He loved spending time with his grandsons or going for a ride in his old Trans-Am with Mom.

Dad was a proud man; very humble; very modest. He never wanted anyone making a big deal or fussing over him, much less, standing around crying. So in accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no further services.

In lieu of flowers or memorials we ask that you please be diligent about cancer screening. Think of our dad and your family and give yourself more time.

Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, Caledonia Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at www.jandtfredrickson.com
