Obituary for Sharon Hoffman

Sharon Kay Hoffman, age 78, of La Crosse passed away peacefully on May 7th, 2022. Sharon grew up in La Crosse where she attended Aquinas High School. She lived in La Crosse most of her life and kept herself busy by having two jobs most of the time. She was always proud to be a hostess and bartender at the Cerise Club, The North Star Tavern, and working at The Company Store. In her later years, she enjoyed working for Festival Foods. Sharon may have had some struggles through life, but lived life to the fullest. She loved playing bingo with her sisters at Potawatomi in Milwaukee even though winning was a rare occurrence. The three sisters got together every year for a week and all Sharon wanted to do was play bingo and the slot machines! Throughout Sharon's life, she gravitated toward animals. She had a dog Goldie and numerous cats throughout the years. When she was younger she also fed a squirrel at her parent's backdoor, which she nicknamed George. The squirrel ended up becoming a pet and her parents were upset that she kept feeding the squirrel! Sharon was a devoted Packer fan, who never missed watching a game. In the late 60s she visited the original stadium, with her sister Michelle and her son Rick. She was an avid reader and loved reading Steven King and Dean Koontz. Putting together jigsaw puzzles was also a passion. She would do anything for her friends and family and loved the Peanuts characters, especially Snoopy. Sharon was always upbeat and joked around. In her later years, she enjoyed going to the Moon Toons concerts at Riverside and bingo at the American Legion in Onalaska with family and friends. Our family is grateful to know that Sharon is finally at peace. Sharon will be missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by both parents, brothers Don and Jim Faas, husband Lester Hoffman and long-term partner Dennis Erickson, and her dog Goldie. Sharon is survived by her son Rick Faas, Sisters; Barb Poeschl and Michelle Schaefer, Grandson; Ric Faas, Nieces, and Nephews; Mike Poeschl, Matt Poeschl, Mary (Andy) Halaska, Lisa (Jeff) Sobczak, Steve (Carol) Faas, Kerry Liston, David Faas, Chris, and Melissa Schaefer, Great Nieces and Nephews; Karissa, Ryan, and Tyler Faas, Don, Shelly and Matt Liston, Calvin, Ella, and Lilly Sobczak.
