Obituary for Louise C. Scharping


Louise C. Scharping (Oium) was born November 11, 1944, to Hjalmer & Hulda (Lokken) Oium. Louise was baptized & confirmed at Skogdalen Lutheran Church. Louise attended Oium school & graduated from Westby High School. On November 17, 1962, she was united in marriage to Vernon F. Scharping at English Ev. Lutheran church, Viroqua, WI. She was a member at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Bangor She is survived by her children, Keith (Kendra) Scharping, Kristine Flock, Kurt (Kathy) Scharping; grandchildren, Dustin (Haley) Scharping, Richard Miller, Michael Miller, Christopher Magnuson, Myles (Sadie) Elsen, Blake Flock, Kyah (Matt Hruza) Flock, Brandon (Morgan) Scharping, Amanda Scharping & Mikayla McHugh; great grandchildren, Jace, Brynnley & Zoey Elsen, Avery Scharping. Brother, David Oium & sister, Maxine Kraabel. Sisters-in-law, Lois Welter, Dorothy Will, Donna Urbanek, Janet Dunnum, Ardice (Vernon) Urbanek, Bernadine Scharping & many nieces & nephews. She was preceded by husband, Vernon 3/14/1997; grandson, Tyler Elsen (8/2/2014); brothers, LaVerne Oium, Milan Oium, Helmer Oium, Rueben Oium; sister, Margaret Sovde, sisters-in-law, Dorothy Oium, Beverly Oium, Verna Marx, Ardella Role; brothers-in-law, Ben Sovde, Kenneth Kraabel, Ellsworth Role, Clinton Dunnum, Ronald Dunnum, Arthur Marx, Neal Will, James Urbanek, Verdel Scharping, Orval Scharping. In-laws, Eddie & Elsie Scharping, nieces & nephews A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 22, 2022, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Bangor. Rev. Brock Groth will officiate. Burial will be in Portland Lutheran Cemetery, Cashton. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home in Bangor and from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service, Friday, at the church.
