Obituary for Paul J. Losen


Paul J. Losen, 89, of La Crosse, WI, died on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Paul was born January 18, 1933, to Arnold and Beatrice (Jastad) Losen in Decorah, Iowa. He was a graduate of Logan HS, class of 1951. He joined the US Army in April 1953 and proudly served his country as a radio operator. In 1955 he married Carol Kenyon, they had three children and later divorced. Paul’s career was as an Industrial Engineer at Trane Company in La Crosse and McQuay International in Faribault, and Minneapolis, MN. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion and a Shriner. As a Shriner, Paul assisted in transporting children from Mexico to the Shriner’s Hospital in Houston, Tx. Paul was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed slow pitch softball, golf, bowling along with fishing and hunting. He celebrated a few perfect games and hole-in-one moments. All passions he shared and passed on to his sons. Paul is preceded in death by his parents and his son Paul H. (Anne Mulford) Losen, Jr. of Kenyon, MN. He leaves behind his daughter Terri (Ramon) Benavides of Mission, TX; son David (Linda) Losen of La Crosse, WI. His sister Margaret (George) Brown of La Crosse. His 7 grandchildren, Christopher Losen, Jennifer Losen, Jacob (Autumn) Losen; Daniel Benavides, Sarah Benavides; Connor Losen and Cole Losen: 1 great-grandson, Landon Benavides; along with many beloved nieces and nephews. We offer our sincere thanks to the staff at Eagle Crest South for the wonderful care they provided Paul during his residence there. A memorial service for Paul will be held at the St. Edwards Cemetery in Kenyon, MN on June 24.
