Obituary for Dale H. Weber


Dale H. Weber, 80, of West Salem, passed away Monday, November 1, 2021, at his home. He was born February 6, 1941, in Vernon County, Wisconsin, to Gerald and Margaret (Keller) Weber. Dale graduated from Viroqua High School in 1959 and then from University of Wisconsin Platteville in 1962 with degrees in Agriculture and Speech. On August 18, 1962, he married Karen Allen in Stoddard, Wis. Dale began his teaching career in Ashland Nebraska and in 1966, moved to West Salem where he continued his teaching career at the West Salem High School. He was one of the founding members of the West Salem First Responders and was the emcee for the junior livestock sale at the La Crosse County Fair for 50 years. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Karen; sons, Kurt (Sally), David (Diane), and Gregg (Sarah); grandchildren, Jeremy (Katy), Brianne (Zach) Caulum, Morgan, Austin, Clayton, and Caleb; great-grandchildren, Nora and Aubrey Weber and Brooke Caulum; brother, Robert (Joann); sisters-in-law, Carol Weber and Ellen (Harvey Geode) Gianoli; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald; nephew, Brian Gianoli; and brother-in-law, Phillip Gianoli. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 5, 2021, at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church in West Salem. Rev. Galen J. Riediger will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, and from 10 a.m., until the time of service, Friday, both at the church. Dale requested no flowers at his funeral; memorials are preferred to the family and will be designated to various local organizations.
