Obituary for Terry A. Wiemerslage


Terry A. Wiemerslage (Stugen), age 64, passed away from complications of cancer on Tuesday October 5, 2021 while surrounded by her family at Gundersen Health System. Terry was born on January 25, 1957, in La Crosse, WI, to Joyce (Smith) and Stanley Stugen. She graduated from West Salem High School in 1975. After high school she traveled out West, exploring and experiencing life. In order to be closer to family, she came back to Wisconsin in the early 80s with her two children. She raised her children in West Salem and obtained an Associate’s degree in the Administrative Assistant program at Western Technical College. Terry continued to work in the food service industry, first at UW-L and then at Lakeview Health Center where she retired in 2018. On October 14, 2000, Terry married Larry D. Wiemerslage of West Salem, WI. They enjoyed 15 years of marriage until his passing on June 23, 2015. Terry’s love of life and traveling led her to many fun adventures with family and friends. She traveled all over the country, and enjoyed visiting wineries, and going to casinos. Terry’s family and friends were the center of her world, and she had a special place in heart for her stepson Luke. Terry is survived by her older siblings, Steven (Diana) Stugen and Vicki Dahl; by her children, Eric (Rachel) Stugen and Angela (William) Addison; step-children, Lucas Wiemerslage, Wendy (Kevin) Korth, Randy (Jane) Wiemerslage, and Renee Powell; her grandchildren, Xzayvier, Sierra, Xzander, Ariana, Lydia, Arianna, Jaxon, Bailey, Travis, Lyndsey, Kelsey, Jacob, Colton, Rhianna; along with many nieces and nephews, great grandchildren, and cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wiemerslage; her sister, Lisa Bachmann; her parents, Joyce and Stanley Stugen; and her granddaughter, Destiny. Funeral Services will be on November 6, 2021, at 11 AM at Jandt-Fredrickson funeral home at 121 Youlon St. N., West Salem, WI. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Hamilton Cemetery following the service. The family will be having a celebration of life at Krome’s Bar in West Salem from 1 PM to 5 PM following the burial. All friends and family are welcome to join in celebrating Terry’s infectious smile, positive outlook on life, optimism in the face of adversity, and never-ending love of family and friends. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to The Special Olympics, The Humane Society and The Jacqueline Hartmann Memorial Scholarship at Western Technical College.
