Obituary for Alton Robert "Bob" Manske

Alton Robert Manske, affectionately known as Bob, of Mindoro, escaped this mortal realm on Sunday, December 24, at the age of 69. We think he did it on purpose to avoid making Christmas phone calls.

Bob was born to Irv and Kay (Olson) Manske on July 29 of 1954, and immediately dubbed "the favorite child". Although survived by five of his seven siblings, we all knew the truth. Bob's demise will now allow them to emerge from his shadow.

He leaves behind three daughters, a herd of grandchildren, and the Sterzings chip manufacturers, for which he was an unofficial spokesperson until dietary restrictions forced him to eat real food.

Bob's life story is a testament to his tenacity and love for the road, having driven over 4 million miles without a single accident.

Bob died knowing that The Wizard of Oz was the best movie ever, Bruce Springsteen is the best recording artist, and that chicks dig Ford Fairlanes.

He was never one for sentiment, but he wanted you to know that if he owes you a beer, and if you can find him in Heaven, he will gladly allow you to buy him another. He can likely be found telling tasteless jokes with Art and Bill by the bar.

Visitation will begin at 10AM on Friday, January 12th at Mindoro Lutheran Church, funeral services to follow at 11AM. Memorial will immediately follow the service at Cindy's Bar and Restaurant. Anyone wearing black will not be admitted.
