She loved making blankets and doilies for her friends and family members, and teaching others how to crochet. Colleen loved road trips or traveling whenever she had the chance. She also talked throughout the years about how much she loved her time as a Sunday school teacher at Luther Valley Church in Beloit.

Colleen was known for loving animals, especially cats. But her favorite way to spend time was with her sister. They loved to laugh, play games, and watch movies together. She also kept in touch with numerous family members and friends and loved to spend time surrounded by her loved ones.

Colleen is survived by her children Kevin (Aimee) Hemmer of Texas, and Kenny Hemmer of Rockford, IL. Her grandchildren; Lindsey Hemmer, Tyler Bergren, Addy Hemmer, Dawson Schroeder, and Keenan Cavin. Her daughter-in-law Amber Schroeder. Her sister Pam (Marvin) Bailey. Her nieces; Jessica Bailey, Nicole Bailey, and Allie Young. Her nephew Jon Bailey. The family would like to thank Gundersen Health System and Mulder Nursing Home for the care and compassion that was given to Colleen.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date at Floral Lawns in South Beloit, WI to allow for travel.
