Obituary for Mary E. Wolf


Mary E. Wolf, 98, formerly of Bangor Wis., passed away on November 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 27, 1925, to Clara (Hanson) and Joseph Kucha. Her father owned the Bangor Grocery Store of which, she shared many fond memories.

Mary truly loved the city of Bangor and the Green Bay Packers. She often came over to Terry's house for a meal and to watch the game. She was an avid gardener and did much canning. Mary loved to sew, making numerous quilts for her grandchildren, friends, and neighbors. Family was very important to Mary. She was very generous to her granddaughters who meant the world to her.

Mary graduated from Bangor High School in 1944. She married Alois (Al) Wolf on October 10, 1946, in Bangor. She worked cleaning the catholic church, rectory, and various friends' and neighbors' homes in Bangor.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Al Wolf; sister, Jane Hunnings; parents, Clara and Joseph Kucha; and best friend, Delores Althoff.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Gary Wolf of Blanchard, Idaho, and Terry(Jill) Wolf of La Crescent Minn; two granddaughters, Sara (Patrick) Bette of Wesley Chapel, Fla., and Megan (Eddie) Tschumper of La Crescent, Minn.; four great-grandchildren, who lit up her life, Claire and Warren Bette and Salem and Otto Tschumper.

A celebration of life will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, Bangor Chapel, Hwy 162 and Hattan Street, Bangor.

Mary's family would like to thank Mayo Clinic Hospice and La Crescent Health Care Center for the excellent care she received.
