Obituary for Randal "Randy" Bahr


Randal "Randy" J. Bahr, 62, of St. Joseph Ridge, WI, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 23, 2023.

Randy was born on July 3, 1960 to Margaret (Bina) and George Bahr in La Crosse, WI. After Randy graduated from West Salem High School in 1978, he joined the United States Marine Corps (USMC). Sgt. Bahr served honorably from 1978 to 1982. Randy was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked for the United States Postal Service for many years as well as Xetex Inc. Randy retired in 2019. He loved his Jack Russell terriers (Pepper, Roxie, Chloe), woodworking, being outdoors, playing chess and watching the Badgers, Brewers and the Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years Arlene. His three children Dylan (Katie) Bahr - Cameron, WI; Bailey Bahr - La Crosse; Michael Bahr - La Crosse, WI; four grandchildren, Mikah and Noah, Eli and Bella; his mother Margaret Bahr; sisters Deb (Phil) Clements - Holmen, WI, Sharon (Jim) Cullman - West Salem, WI; four brothers Steve (Robin) Bahr - Barre, WI; Stan Bahr - Spring Grove, MN; Patrick Bahr - La Crosse, WI; Alan Bahr - La Crosse, WI; Sister-in-law’s Pauline (Robert) Pieterick - Arcadia, WI; Jane Suchla - Charlotte, NC; Colette (Michael) Suchla-Doyle - Onalaska, WI; Ann (David) Platteter - Arcadia, WI; Charlotte (Scott) Roraff - Winona, MN; and brother-in-law: Bradley (Stacy) Suchla - Arcadia, WI. He was preceded in death by his father George Bahr and his niece Jenny Clements.

A celebration of life will take place Saturday, March 18, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at the Black River Beach Neighborhood Center, 1433 Rose Street, La Crosse, WI 54603.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Wisconsin Public Radio or Coulee Region Humane Society.
