Obituary for Joann J. Stremcha


Joann J. Stremcha, 78, died June 11, 2021 in her sleep. She was born March 2, 1943 to Arthur and Rebecca (Roberts) Arentz in La Crosse County, WI among 12 kids. She graduated from Cashton High School in 1962. Joann (Arentz) met Robert Stremcha at a Cataract Dance Hall. They were united in marriage on June 23, 1962 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sparta, WI until Robert’s passing in March 2021. Joann worked as a seamstress at places: Carl Limentz, Jack Winters and the Company Store. Her hobby was sewing memorable quilts remembered by her sons and also showing her creative artistry in a grandson drawing to making it into a quilt. She will be remembered for gardening with her husband, Robert. In the beginning, Mom took care of us. In the end, we took care of her. In all, we took care of each other. Survivors include son Daniel Stremcha. Son Richard Stremcha with grandkids Joseph (Maddie) Stremcha and Becca Stremcha. Daughter, Sherry (Stremcha) Page with boyfriend Kie Culpitt with Grandson, Tyler Page and his fiancée Michelle Hosch. Joann’s sister, Carol (Arentz) Kobernick. Joann was preceded in passing by her parents, Arthur and Rebecca Arentz and Joann’s husband, Robert Stremcha. Also passing were her brothers: Vernon, Mahlon, Curtis, Jimmy and Dennis, her sisters who passed were: Leona, Betty, Vonnie, and Phyllis. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, June 18, 2021, at the Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Jostad Chapel, West Salem. Deacon Bob Zietlow will officiate. Burial will follow in Burns Cemetery for both Joann and her husband, Robert. A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
