Obituary for Cheryl L. (Rodenberg) Keivel


Cheryl L. (Rodenberg) Keivel, 48, of Bangor, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, January 17, 2021. She was born on June 3, 1972 to Duane and Donna (Zebell) Rodenberg. Cheryl married Steven Keivel on April 15, 2000 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, West Salem. To this union two children, Dominic and Trent were born. She worked at Bethany Lutheran Homes as an accountant, responsible for both accounts payable and receivable. Among her greatest joys were attending Packer games, camping and their many trips to Ohio. Cheryl is survived by her husband Steve, two sons; Dominic and Trent at home, her parents Duane and Donna Rodenberg of Bangor, one brother, Shanon (Cindy) Rodenberg of Bangor, two nieces Sarah Rodenberg of Columbus, OH, and Natalie Keivel of Oswego, IL and nephew Sam Rodenberg of Minneapolis, MN., father and mother-in-law Robert and Suann Keivel of Huber Heights OH, one brother-in-law Joe (Sandy) Keivel of Oswego, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 210 Hamlin St. W, West Salem. Monsignor Robert Hundt and Deacon Robert Zietlow will concelebrate. Burial will be in the Burns Cemetery, Town of Burns, rural Bangor. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm., Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, 102 Hattan Street, Bangor. Visitation will continue from 9:30 am until the Mass, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to Sunshine on the Trail ( Bangor Area Cancer Support Group.) Cheryl's family would like to express heartfelt thank you's to Dr. Kollu and Dr. Ojelabi and the Oncology staff of Gundersen Health System for their compassionate care. Also a special thank you to Gundersen Lutheran Hospice for the outstanding care she received over the last week.
