Obituary for Constance "Connie" Erickson


Constance “Connie” (Bills) Erickson, 79, of La Crosse, died Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Gundersen Health System due to new complications from a fall in October. Connie was born November 28, 1941, in Oshkosh, WI, to Frederick and Constance (Jones) Bills. In June 1962 she married Larry Daellenbach in Moorhead, MN, and they later divorced. She graduated from Moorhead State College with a degree in Elementary Education and taught 4th grade in Ames, IA, before moving to La Crosse in 1969. She taught 6th grade at the UWL Campus School, and later earned a Master’s Degree from UWL. In October 1984 she married Ramon Erickson in Viroqua, WI. She taught at Holmen Middle School, and retired from Logan Middle School as a Chapter One Reading Specialist after many years of teaching. Connie enjoyed her book club, knitting, genealogy, mahjong, word puzzles and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sons of Norway, Eastern Star, P.E.O. Sisterhood, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She will be remembered for her kindness to everyone. She is survived by her husband Ramon of La Crosse; daughters Lisa (Scott) Moors of Phoenix, AZ, and Lori (Johnathan Trace) Lawson of La Crosse; stepsons Michael (Jamie) Erickson of Monument, CO, and Randy (Tanya) Erickson of Coon Valley, and stepdaughter Tammy Erickson of La Crosse; grandchildren Audrey Lawson and Julian Lawson of La Crosse, Jason (Megan) Erickson of Parker, CO, Zackory Erickson of Atlanta, GA, and Ashley (Bryan) Herron of Menomonie; great-grandchildren Rowan Erickson and Finnley Erickson of Parker, CO. Connie was preceded in death by her brother Mike Bills and grandson Jesse Lawson. The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany St. Joseph and the Gundersen hospice team for their excellent care.
