Obituary for John William Tracey


John William Tracey, 74, of Mindoro, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020 on the farm that he loved and spent all his life on. He was born on March 8, 1946 to John Sr. and Vivian (Hanson) Tracey. He graduaded from Mindoro High School in 1964 and went on to farm with his uncles, Robert and Harry Tracey. John married Cynthia J. Tollefson on December 5, 1970 and they were blessed with twins, Tim and Tom. John loved farming, baseball, playing softball, throwing horseshoes, hunting, a good game of cards, John Deeres, his family, and his dogs. He loved to tell a good bs story and jokes, make up songs, laugh, and tease. John will be remembered by his wife, Cindy; sons, Tim (Nicole) and Tom (former daughter-in-law Tia), grandchildren; Sydney, Ben, Morgan, Ella, Jack, Lydia, and John; siblings, Betty (Dale) Kirchner, Alice Baumer, Carol Paisley, Ruth (Leon) Pfaff, and brother, Sam (Pam) Tracey; mother-in-law, Avonelle Tollefson, and Cindy’s family along with nieces; nephews; good friends, and his constant companion, Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-laws, Jim Baumer and John Youngthunder, and his father-in-law, Walter Tollefson. A celebration of life will be held from 5 pm until 8 pm, on Friday, July 3, 2020, at the Mindoro Lion’s Club (W3839 Lions Club Rd). In lieu of flowers memorial are preferred to go to the Mindoro Lutheran Church or to Palliative Care at Gundersen Health System or to the donor’s choice in place of flowers and plants.
