Obituary for Alice Mae Bolstad

Alice Mae Bolstad, 90, of West Salem passed away peacefully at her home, Thursday, June 18, 2020 . She was born January 23, 1930 in La Crosse to Marion and Regna Woodhouse. She spent her entire childhood and teen years in La Crosse, graduating from La Crosse Central High School, "Class of 1948". Alice married Gilman "Pete" Bolstad on October 3, 1959 and they were happily married for over 60 years. She worked as a cook in the West Salem School District for 16 years, but her most rewarding job was raising her children. She was greatly appreciated for her talents crocheting, having shared those talents by knitting many afghans for the Children's Miracle Network. Alice is survived by her loving husband Pete, three daughters; Pamela (Tom) Arentz, Roberta (James) Degenhardt and Dale (Timothy) Corrigan, two grandson; Austin Tiffany (Rhyme) Arentz and Alton Degenhardt, two great grandchildren; Adeline and Amberlee Arentz. She was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Regna Woodhouse, two sisters; Gladys (Glen) Campbell and Beverly (Walter) Miller, one brother Edward (Kay) Spears and father and mother-in-law Gilman Sr.(Dorothy Bolstad). Due to recent increased risks surrounding the Convid-19 pandemic, private graveside services will be held. Pastors Jonathan and Jean Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in the Neshonoc Cemetery.
