To live in the hearts and minds of those we leave behind

Let us help get you started

Condolences for Gisela E. Hartley

Loved to visit Gisela on my many visits to Eitzen and can remember her first visit to Minnesota and Iowa at a Christmas holiday with Uncle Loren.. We all sang together Carols and had a fabulous time getting to know her. She was my first adult penpal and as a 14 year old I certainly appreciated her attention. She also encouraged me to pursue my dream of being an RN, sharing stories of helping others using skills learned in school. The ability to care for others in a meaningful way is certainly a trait learned from family and I saw it in her. Recently we sang hymns together over the phone and she sang one about "Thankful for the sun that shines...." in German and it was her special gift to me for that day. She will be missed and so grateful I was able to be a part of her life.

Gisela was our son’s nurse the first several years of his life. She came into our home and gave him care and nurtured him as if he were her own son. She was wonderful with him, and she was also wonderful to us…the stressed-out parents. She worked with our son every day and helped him grow stronger and healthier. She supported all of us with her tender, caring manner. Gisela was a blessing to our family and we will love her forever. Our sympathy to Loren and family. Love, the Beckman Family

I am sorry to hear of Gisela"s passing. I worked with her in homecare and knew her to be kind and caring to her patients and co-workers. You will be in my prayers.
