Condolences for

I am sorry to hear of the death of Della Berg. She was my first "editor," when she ran the Bangor Independent and I was a 4-H Club correspondent. After working for newspapers for 45 years, I can also say she was the nicest editor I ever worked for. She was of great importance to the village of Bangor in that and other positions, reporting and confirming the daily life in the community. Bangor was lucky to have her.

So sorry Cris about the passing of your mom. She lived a good long life of 100 years. I was surprised to read of all your siblings that have passed already, leaving you as the only surviving one if I am reading it correctly. She was so lucky to have you around since you had taken such good care of her for so many years. You have my deepest sympathy. Cousin Cristene, Please accept our deepest sympathies on the loss of your mom. I know that you are comforted by the sure knowledge that she is with her Savior. I will always remember her for her kindness and grace and for our shared love of history. Bangor has lost one of its most civic minded citizens. God bless.

I've known Della for many years, and had the pleasure of serving on the village board during her last years as village clerk. She was a quiet, dedicated, and caring person. Her 19 years of service to Bangor, along with President Ted Piske, is a testament to a wonderful career as a public servant. And her life is also a long story full of many accomplishments. Chris, So very sorry to read of the passing of your mom. Reading her life story was a lesson in grace and grit. My mom recently passed at the age of 98. Both our mom's lived thru very challenging times. And as we are facing this current catastrophic world event I hope to be able to live up to my mom's resilient example.
